Hi Everyone!

So, my entire family lives in Boston and as we know they're having a WICKED snow storm :) Here is a picture from my Aunt's house in Boston, this was today at NOON and they already had 2 feet!!! This was their sad attempt to dig out the car...

Anyway, on to my blog post to answer my documentary question!

The question I'm choosing to share with you guys is about the scene that stuck with me the most. Every time I have watched this documentary the scene that sticks with me is the scene where Morgan Spurlock throws up his McDonald's lunch right in the parking lot. This scene will always deter me from wanting to eat fast food, but especially McDonald's because watching this was just beyond disgusting! It was shocking to me that after eating McDonald's for 5 days his body felt so sick and sluggish that his body wanted to expel these toxins! I can almost guarantee (maybe?) that if someone ate broccoli or salad for 5 days straight they would not be throwing it up. Whatever ingredients McDonald's uses are obviously harmful and not necessary for the human body. During this scene, Morgan is literally forcing himself to eat the McDonald's lunch. He is gagging and in physical pain throughout the whole scene. There is a timer going during this scene to show you how long Morgan took to eat the meal because he felt so sick. I can't imagine what someone who eats McDonald's everyday for years and years has done to their body.

Anyone want to go on a date to McDonalds? LOL, kidding.

  1. I watched the film also and I agree, that scene stuck with me too. It was disgusting to watch, but it really opened my eyes to what that food does to your body. It has to be all processed and preserved which is really bad for our bodies. It was crazy that that was only day 5 and he had 25 more to go on that diet. If he felt that bad after 15 meals at Mcdonalds, it really makes you think what you're eating. I agree, I'm going to avoid Mcdonalds at all times.

  2. Dang thats a lot of snow! When I went to Northern Michigan I had to dig my car out like that at least once a week! Its crazy! And I really think that scene kind of stuck with me also because he was barley half way done and was only first couple of days and he was already puking! It does show that McDonald's puts stuff in the food that can harm our bodies and harm them so much they cannot even keep it in! Showing the timer and his face while trying to finish the rest of the meal is painful because it took him so long to finish the meal and his face the entire time looked very sick and unpleasant!

  4. Yeah I thought the same thing when I got to that scene. It takes a lot of guts to force yourself to keep eating despite all the effects that it has on your body. This also shows Morgan Spurlock's determination to address what is facing Americans today. It is noble what he has done through this documentary. He brought light to a subject that wasn't truly proven. Through his efforts he was able to acquire the necessary data to prove that fast food is detrimental to their consumers. By ding this he was able to make a change to how Fast food companies do business.
